5 Steps to Apply Maskcara Foundation

Updated: Dec 30, 2020

The EASIEST way to apply Maskcara is to do it in paint by numbers style. Simply apply the right colors to the right sections, and then at the end you will blend it to perfection. So don’t worry too much about applying it perfectly at first, slap it on there, play around, and at the end we will smooth it all out.

Step One: Highlight

With a fresh, clean face the first step to applying Maskcara is highlighting! The highlight color is the lighter of the two skin tones you should have in your compact. It should be a shade or two lighter than your natural shade, so don’t panic.

Your highlight color will go under your eyes, bottom of your forehead, in between your cheekbone and your jaw and around you nose and on the chin.

Apply using your 30 second HAC or Detail HAC brush.

Step Two: Contour

This shade is probably 3-5 shares darker that your skin tone, so again, don’t panic. The magic of Maskcara is that in between your highlight and contour shade is your natural shade.

Your contour will go on the top of your forehead, along your hairline, down the sides of your nose, from the middle of your ear to the middle of your cheek (just below your cheekbone) and along your jawline.

Step Three: Blush

The blushes are my favorite part! I recommend having at least 2 or 3 blushes in your compact at some point so you have some options. Additionally, some blushes can work as beautiful eyeshadows!

Apply your blush just above your contour line near your cheekbone. You can apply it in a little circle on the apples of your cheeks and then blend back towards your contour line.

Step Four: Blend

The blending is where the magic happens. Make sure you have the 3D perfector sponge. Get damp with water and then wring out – the sponge should not feel wet to the touch but more like a cloud (use a towel if needed to help remove additional water). This is the PERFECT tool for perfecting your Maskcara iiiD foundation.

Now slowly and softly dab it on the areas that need blending. My preferred way is to spray it lightly with

Maskcara's Setting Spray and then dab it

all over for extra staying power.

Step Five: Illuminator

Your last step is to add a little shine, to create that natural looking glow. Using your finger or perfector sponge dab into your illuminator and then apply to the top of your cheekbones, under your brow bone, and to your nose and cupid's bow if you feel so inclined.

All Finished

Add your favorite mascara, run some of your blush on your lips and girl, you are ready to get out there, gorgeous!
