Over the past year or so I have begun to pay closer attention to the beauty products I am buying and using on a regular basis. In years past my beauty routine wasn't actually much of a routine at all. I bounced between different products on a whim and then committed to others because I was fearful of changing things up because my skin is sensitive and I never knew how it would react. Lately however I have been more conscientious about what products I have been using and noticing how my skin and hair responds to different products. I have compiled a list of 6 of my absolute favorite items that I use on an everyday basis.
The Porefessional Primer from Benefit Cosmetics
For all my combination/oily skin and large pore friends out there I cannot say enough positive things about The Porefessional Primer. I can apply the smallest amount with a beauty blender (I use the Perfector Sponge from Maskcara) and it blurs pores and gives my skin a soft, airbrushed finish– it even helps make some of my wrinkles look less noticeable. The Porefessional Primer keeps my oily skin matte all day and my foundation remains in place. Even when I choose to wear no makeup I still apply this primer to minimize the look of my pores and even out my skin tone.
Dove Micellar Anti-Stress Body Wash
AMAZING! I have always used different Dove Body Washes and this by far is my favorite. The scent is clean and delicate but also washes off so it is not left lingering all day. Dove Micellar Anti-Stress Body Wash is very gentle, doesn’t dry out my sensitive skin and leaves my skin feeling soft after cleansing.
Maskcara iiiD Foundation
All my makeup in one small compact, Hallelujah! With Maskcara I can customize my own palette to include a highlight, contour, lip and cheek, and illuminator tin. Using these four products and one brush (The Detail HAC brush is my choice) I can create a flawless look without needing to apply multiple layers and risk caked on makeup or a flat, washed out face. In five minutes and five simple steps Maskcara iiiD Foundation blends to perfection and highlights my natural beauty rather than covering it up like some other foundations tend to do.
EOS Hand Lotion
I love this lotion! It is very moisturizing, soaks in quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling. It is small enough to keep in my purse and comes in a variety of lovely scents. EOS hand lotion leaves my skin feeling smooth and pleasant for hours and I don’t find myself needing to constantly reapply. My only complaint is that it is not available in a larger size.
Milk Moisturizer
Heaven in a Jar. I use Milk Moisturizer every night before bed and it is the only moisturizer I need. I used to apply moisturizer in the morning and evening however since incorporating Milk into my routine I no longer need to apply anything in the morning and my skin feels soft and hydrated. I have very sensitive skin and have been prone to acne and rosacea, Milk has helping minimize my red undertones, improve the texture of my skin, and because of the natural lactic acid in the moisturizer I am able to begin to see improvements in the appearance of old acne scaring.
L’ange Déjà Dry Shampoo
I am a L’ange fanatic so it was a tough decision regarding which product to feature on my favorites list. The L’ange Dry Shampoo just barely nudged out their wonderful Root Booster. I wash my hair 2-3 times per week and in between washes this is my go-to product. Heck even on days I have freshly washed hair I still use this Dry Shampoo because I love the texture in creates in my hair and it helps maintain my styling throughout the day. It is light and does not leave a heavy residue and your hair is left feeling soft and manageable, while adding volume and eliminating excess oil.
